Inflatable screens are in high demand for events, while horse racing promotions and drive-in cinemas adapt to changing times. Meanwhile, a new lottery ticket and outdoor movie alternatives emerge.

Inflatable screens are gaining popularity among event organizers. Companies like AirScreen and FunFlicks report increased demand for their products, catering to parties, corporate events, and community festivals. Meanwhile, horse racing enthusiasts are gearing up for the Belmont Stakes on June 6. California Chrome, with a chance to win the Triple Crown, has signed an endorsement deal with Skechers. Some venues, like Santa Anita, are offering promotions such as free nasal strips branded with 'Chrome' for the event.

Drive-in cinemas are also evolving. Remaining theaters are upgrading to digital projection to stay competitive. They often combine nostalgic movie screenings with special events and food sales to boost revenue. Some even host niche or retro movie series and community events. Partnerships, government grants, and crowdfunding help finance these upgrades, while some cinemas pass costs to customers via ticket price increases. A local sports arena near the author is screening first-run double features in its parking lot for $10 per person, generating extra business for food concessions and the restaurant.

June 6 marks 'Drive-in Movie Day', celebrating the anniversary of the first drive-in theater opening in 1933. As traditional drive-ins adapt, alternatives like mobile outdoor movie theaters and pop-up cinemas emerge. Meanwhile, a scratch-off lottery ticket called 'Grills Gone Wild', branded with the Omaha Steaks logo, offers a second-chance drawing for grilling products. The number of drive-in theaters varies by state, with some states having none and others like Ohio having around 20.
