Industrial Zone of Schlavenhorst in Bocholt: Employment of Dangerous Substances in Industrial Sector

The Bocholt Fire Department was called to action today at 8:00, responding to a report of a hazardous material leak at a logistics company in the Bocholt industrial area of Schlavenhorst. Upon arrival, an unknown liquid was leaking from a truck carrying various hazardous materials.

The fire chief of Bocholter Feuerwehr was present at the scene to coordinate the incident. Firefighters from Rhede provided additional support, bringing trained personnel to handle chemical protective clothing.

The Bocholt Fire Department cordoned off the area, ensured fire protection, and initiated the operation. A damaged barrel containing a flammable liquid was identified as the cause of the leak. To contain the hazardous material, a special binding agent was used, and the damaged barrel was sealed to prevent any further leakage.

During the operation, firefighters in chemical protective clothing partially unloaded the truck. The Bocholt Fire Department's drone was deployed to survey the scene, providing valuable insights to the firefighters.

The incident was successfully resolved after approximately three hours, with the participation of 12 vehicles and 50 personnel from the Bocholt Fire Department and emergency services.
