Individuals meet tragedy in the English Channel as a vehicle takes a fatal turn on a rooftop terrace, leaving one fatality and multiple injuries in its wake.
On Saturday, September 6, a tragic incident occurred in the picturesque coastal town of Pirou-Plage, Manche, France. A car struck six victims, leaving one person dead and five others injured.
According to the prosecutor, Gauthier Poupeau, the vehicle in question was an automatic one. Initial elements suggest that a fainting spell experienced by the driver, a woman who later succumbed to her injuries, caused the car to continue moving, striking a group of pedestrians.
The six victims include four pedestrians and the two occupants of the car. Three of the injured are in critical condition, with the driver, the deceased woman, and two of those in critical condition being over 70 years old. A 31-year-old pedestrian also suffered a shock and was hit by the car while crossing the road.
The mayor of Pirou-Plage spoke to ICI Cotentin about the incident, expressing the community's shock and sorrow. To provide psychological support, a cell has been opened in the commune of Pirou-Plage.
Firefighters are involved, taking charge of the six victims. The prosecutor has stated that the theory of a voluntary act by the driver is formally excluded.
The incident occurred in the afternoon, but no new information about the ages of the victims or the deceased was provided in this paragraph.
The community of Pirou-Plage is currently in a state of mourning, with prayers and thoughts going out to the families of those affected by this tragic accident.
