Individual involved in a violent altercation sustains severe injuries, aged 21 years.

Early this morning (July 22), a violent altercation took place near the iconic Castle Bridge in Mülheim an der Ruhr's Old Town, close to the Ruhr River. The incident, which occurred around 2:30 AM, resulted in a 21-year-old German resident being severely injured in a stabbing.

Witnesses reported a brawl involving several individuals near the Castle Bridge. The injured individual was found at a staircase on Leineweberstraße. The first responding police officers promptly provided first aid before quickly transporting him to a nearby hospital.

Three male suspects were arrested in the nearby area. The suspects consist of one individual of German-Ghanaian nationality, and two Germans. The ages of the arrested suspects are 20, 20, and 20. The suspected weapon was secured during the search.

A homicide commission has been established under the leadership of the Staatsanwaltschaft Duisburg due to suspicion of attempted manslaughter. Witnesses are encouraged to provide any information they may have at [email protected].
