Individual detained for uttering racist slurs against a woman of diverse ethnicity
In the early hours of August 28, 2025, a disturbing incident unfolded on a U5 line train heading towards HΓΆnow from Strausberger Platz station in Berlin. A 44-year-old man, whose identity remains undisclosed, was accused of making racist slurs and giving a Nazi salute against another passenger.
The incident was initially reported by a 38-year-old passenger around 0:40 AM. The witness, who managed to record the incident, activated the emergency brake, causing the train to stop at Frankfurter Tor station.
Upon arrival at Frankfurter Tor station, law enforcement officers approached the suspect. However, the suspect behaved aggressively and resisted when handcuffed by the officers. Despite the resistance, the officers were able to complete the necessary identification procedures and blood sampling.
During these procedures, the suspect continued to resist and insult the officers. The State Protection department of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office has taken over the further investigation.
After the police procedures were completed, the suspect was allowed to continue his journey. The details of the victim, a 25-year-old passenger, have not been disclosed for privacy reasons.
