The Federal Police Directorate Saint Augustin is currently investigating an incident that took place at Essen Central Station on September 3. At around 3:40 PM, a 44-year-old German man was found on platform 21, who is known to the police for previous offenses.

According to reports, the man soiled the S-Bahn and made racist remarks to a female Deutsche Bahn conductor, who was born in Côte d'Ivoire and is 52 years old. He also threatened another female conductor with physical violence.

The Federal Police have initiated an investigation for incitement, threats, and assault. The same man is also suspected of threatening another passenger with a corkscrew from a pocket knife on a regional express train, leading to additional charges of violation of weapons law.

The man was taken into custody, and an administrative offence procedure has been initiated for soiling a railway facility. It is worth noting that the man exercised his right to remain silent after admitting to the crime.
