Duleep Trophy 2025 Semi-Final Report: East Zone and South Zone Progress to the Final
The Duleep Trophy 2025 semifinals have seen some thrilling cricket, and the action was no different in the matches between South Zone, North Zone, West Zone, and Central Zone.
In Bengaluru, West Zone and Central Zone faced off in a nail-biting contest. West Zone, batting first, put up a formidable total of 438 runs in 108 overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad shone for West Zone with a brilliant 184 runs, while Rajat Patidar, who previously scored a 96-ball 125 against North East Zone, contributed 47 runs.
In response, Central Zone finished day two at 229-2. Danish Malewar, who has at least one fifty-plus score in each of his last five first-class matches, scored 76 runs, and Rajat Patidar added another 65 runs. Shubham Sharma is currently unbeaten on 60 runs for Central Zone.
The bowling honours for Central Zone went to Harsh Dubey, who took 3 wickets for 118 runs. Danish Malewar, who also scored 203 runs against North East Zone in the quarter-finals, couldn't repeat his form with the ball in this match.
Meanwhile, in another semifinal, South Zone played against North Zone. South Zone managed to secure a victory on the first innings lead, beating North Zone. The East Zone vs North Zone match, however, was a closer affair. East Zone edged past North Zone, with current play standing East Zone leading by 30 runs against North Zone after the second day of the semifinal matches.
The final of the Duleep Trophy 2025 will be played between East Zone and South Zone starting September 11, 2025. The cricket fraternity eagerly awaits the final to witness which team will lift the trophy this year.
