Indian expat in Qatar wins Dh50,000 after seven years of raffle persistence

A 52-year-old Indian businessman living in Qatar has won Dh50,000 in the latest Big Ticket raffle draw. Murtuza Ali, who initially doubted the winning call, later confirmed his prize after receiving an official email. His win was part of the third weekly e-draw of January, where four participants from India and Pakistan each secured the same amount.

Ali has been buying Big Ticket raffle tickets on his own for seven years. His persistence paid off when he learned of his victory, though he first suspected a scam. After verifying the news through an official notification, he decided to use the money to support his daughter studying in the UK.

The January campaign still has one more weekly e-draw offering Dh50,000 to four winners before the main event. This month's Big Ticket features a Dh20 million grand prize alongside five Dh1 million consolation rewards.

Ali has advised others to keep participating regularly in the raffle. His win follows years of consistent entries, proving that long-term involvement can lead to success.

The Dh50,000 prize will help Ali fund his daughter's education abroad. With one final weekly e-draw remaining, more winners could soon be announced. The main draw later this month will also award millions in prizes to lucky participants.
