Indian Army’s ‘Know Your Army’ exhibition captivates Shimla on Army Day

The Indian Army commemorated its 78th Army Day with celebrations nationwide. A major attraction was the 'Know Your Army' exhibition in Shimla, which drew large crowds and displayed the force’s capabilities to the public.

The exhibition took place at Shimla’s Ridge ground, orchestrated by the Army Training Command (ARTRAC). It showcased weaponry, ammunition, and a health camp, accompanied by performances from the Army Pipe Band. Selfie points were also set up, enhancing the event's appeal.

Retired Brigadier Harjit Singh and Lieutenant General Sukriti Singh Dahiya inaugurated the exhibition. Singh later remarked on the strong presence of young people, tourists, and cadets, emphasizing the event's broad reach. Among the attendees was NCC cadet Under Officer Riya Chauhan, who expressed her aspiration to join the defence forces after visiting. Tourist Saylee Kurulkar from Maharashtra also showed interest in the Army’s equipment and operations. The event aimed to connect the Army with civilians and encourage youth to consider military careers.

The 'Know Your Army' exhibition served as the main event of this year’s Army Day festivities. It successfully engaged the public, especially young attendees, and solidified connections between the Army and future generations. The event’s interactive displays and high turnout highlighted its role in inspiring potential recruits.
