Increased Regulations: Installing Speed Limits for Safe Journeys to School

In a bid to ensure the safety of students, the Hanau police recently enforced the "Blitz for Kids" action, focusing on potential hazardous situations around schools. During this initiative, a total of 90 vehicles were controlled.

On Monday, the police paid special attention to what are known as "parent taxis", monitoring vehicles at control points using a mobile speed gun. The action took place at two schools, with students from the Paul-Gerhardt School assisting in the morning.

The results were quite revealing. A total of 32 speed violations were punished, with 25 offenses falling within the warning fine range and seven being more serious, in the fine range. The most serious offense occurred on the Alten Rückinger Weg, where a driver was caught traveling at 55 km/h.

The "Blitz for Kids" initiative, which aims to raise awareness of the dangers around schools and prevent accidents involving children, has been established in several federal states for many years. Its goal is to encourage responsible behaviour from parents, students, and all road users, especially at the beginning of the school year.

The Hanau police have made it clear that this is not the end of their efforts. Further controls are planned for the "Blitz for Kids" action in Hanau.
