Increased Indoor Swimming Hours in Moscow - Closing of Outdoor Pool Season Welcomes Over 100,000 Visitors

The 2025 Outdoor Swimming Season at Osnabrück's popular Moskaubad has seen a slight decrease in visitor numbers compared to last year. According to Moskaubad Director Kenneth Fischer, this drop can be attributed to the inconsistent summer weather.

Last year, the outdoor pool welcomed up to 5,000 guests on hot summer days. However, this year's weather has been far from consistently warm, leading to a visitor count of around 100,000 guests for the 2025 season.

Despite the lower visitor count, the Moskaubad continues to offer a variety of amenities. The Jungle Trail, for instance, is open from 2 pm to 6 pm on weekdays and from 9 am to 5 pm on weekends. This popular attraction remains open for public use outside of scheduled courses, club swimming, and school swimming lessons.

The Jungle Trail's extended hours compared to last year's indoor pool season have been noted by Baths Director Torsten Krier. Interestingly, the indoor pool's opening hours were adjusted last year and were well-received by guests. Now, the indoor pool will open to the public from Monday, September 8.

As for the outdoor pool, the gates will close for the last time this year on Sunday, September 7 due to cooling nighttime temperatures. However, the Jungle Trail will remain open during the indoor pool's winter season.

Torsten Krier also mentioned that the opening hours of the indoor pool will be significantly extended during the winter season. The city or municipality responsible for this expansion is typically the local government or municipal sports department of the town where the pool is located. For example, the winter opening of the Hallenbad Leonberg is managed by the City of Leonberg administration.

Director Fischer noted that several consecutive sunny days are needed to make the pool crowded. Despite the lower visitor count this season, the Moskaubad continues to be a favourite destination for locals and visitors alike, offering a variety of amenities and a welcoming atmosphere.
