Increased Bandwidth for Personal Wi-Fi Networks (Marl)
In a significant move, Deutsche Telekom AG has announced plans to provide faster internet services to over 180 households in Marl-Sickingmuhle, a settlement in the city of Grevenbroich, Germany.
The expansion of the fiber-optic network in Sickingmuhle, which began on September 5, 2025, has resulted in a significant increase in the maximum download speed. Residents can now enjoy a blazing-fast download speed of 250 Mbit/s, a marked improvement from the previous 10 Mbit/s.
To cater to the needs of new, existing, and small and medium-sized business customers, Deutsche Telekom has provided phone numbers for easy access. These numbers are 0800 330 3000, 0800 330 1000, and 0800 330 1300 respectively. All calls are free of charge.
Residents can now get informed, register, and book the faster internet services provided by Deutsche Telekom AG at www.telekom.de/faster. Over 40% of households in Marl can already book a fiber optic connection from Telekom.
In addition to the increased download speed, the upload speed in Sickingmuhle has also seen an improvement, rising to 40 Mbit/s from the previous 10 Mbit/s.
Deutsche Telekom is not stopping at 250 Mbit/s. The company is also offering fiber optic connections with up to 1 Gbit/s for around 22,000 households in Marl.
Customers can book the faster internet services provided by Telekom online, by phone, or in stores. The company has installed new system technology in a gray box at the side of the road in Sickingmuhle, ensuring a smooth and reliable connection for all.
