The Successful ASI Show in Dallas

The ASI Show in Dallas, the largest industry event in the Southwest, attracted a record number of distributors in 2009. With over 3,900 distributors in attendance, the show posted a 10% increase from the previous year, surpassing the prior record of 3,750 set in 2007.

Suppliers reported more booth traffic than expected, with distributors being serious and coming with a purpose. This increase in attendance can be attributed to the brighter, more accessible registration area with shorter lines, as well as the upgraded technology and self-service kiosks that streamlined the registration process for both suppliers and distributors.

The event featured 550 suppliers, over 70 education workshops, and an After Party. The keynote presentation, "The One Minute Entrepreneur: How to Prosper Beyond Your Wildest Dreams," was a highlight of the event. However, it seems there was a mix-up as the presentation was given by Ken Blanchard, not Don Huston as initially reported.

The education workshops were sponsored by Fields Mfg, asi/54100. Approximately 1,000 distributors attended these sessions, and more than 200 distributors attended the "distributor success" track. The After Party was sponsored by The Magnet Group, asi/68507, and Spirit Industries, asi/88740.

Daily live ASI Radio broadcasts took place before exhibits opened each day on Thursday and Friday at the Dallas show. The "supplier clinics" program was also introduced, providing actionable examples for ad specialty suppliers to manage business in a challenging environment.

New colors, designs, and badges were individually branded for the Dallas show and the remaining three ASI Shows in 2009. The showcase featured thousands of new products and services for the start of the year.

Timothy M. Andrews, president of The ASI Show and president and CEO of ASI, expressed his satisfaction with the show's success. Additionally, American Solutions for Business, asi/120975, co-located its winter show at the Dallas event, with about 400 associates in attendance.

Lastly, the New Product Digest was featured at the Dallas show, showcasing the hottest items for 2009. The ASI Show in Dallas proved to be a successful event, demonstrating the continued growth and vitality of the ad specialty industry.
