Incorrect dissemination of information: Chief Marshal AP Singh's visit to the family of Sergeant Surendra Kumar being misrepresented as a visit to IAF pilot Shivangi Singh's residence.

The recent claims circulating on social media suggesting that Air Chief Marshal AP Singh visited the home of IAF pilot Shivangi Singh have been deemed false. Contrary to these claims, the visit in question was actually to the family of late Sergeant Surendra Kumar, who made the ultimate sacrifice during Operation Sindoor.

The video, which was originally uploaded by news channels on YouTube on 14 August 2025, shows Air Chief Marshal AP Singh paying his respects to the family of Sergeant Kumar in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. This visit was not with the family of IAF pilot Shivangi Singh, who was not reported missing during Operation Sindoor and safely returned home according to confirmed reports.

Jhunjhunu, a district in Rajasthan, has a proud legacy of service, with 21,700 ex-servicemen and 3,552 serving Air Warriors in the Indian Air Force. During Operation Sindoor, Sergeant Kumar laid down his life in the line of duty, and his family was honoured by the visit from Air Chief Marshal AP Singh and Mrs. Sarita Singh.

The video caption reads, "Operation Sindoor | Air Force Chief Visits Family Of Sergeant Killed During Op Sindoor". During the visit, they met his mother, Mrs. Nanu Devi, his wife, Mrs. Seema, and his children, Vritika and Daksh.

Air Marshal AK Bharti confirmed during a press briefing on 11 May 2025 that all pilots involved in Operation Sindoor had returned home safely. There are no reports to suggest that IAF pilot Shivangi Singh went missing in Operation Sindoor. The official Indian Air Force X handle shared visuals from the viral video, further confirming the visit's true purpose.

It is essential to verify information before sharing it, especially when it concerns matters of national importance such as the Indian Air Force and its operations. Misinformation can cause unnecessary worry and confusion, so it is crucial to maintain accuracy and transparency in such situations.
