In the past week, several incidents have occurred across our region, ranging from traffic accidents to fires and gas leaks. Here's a roundup of some of the notable events.

Traffic Accidents

  • On Wednesday evening, an 82-year-old driver of a Fiat Sedici collided at low speed with the corner of a parked Audi A1 on Johannes-Mauthe-Straße in Albstadt. The woman was taken to a hospital for further treatment, and the extent of the damages is yet to be disclosed.
  • A traffic accident on the B10 near Esslingen on Thursday morning resulted in severe injuries to a road user. The accident investigation and cleanup were carried out from 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM.
  • On Thursday morning, a dispute between two residents occurred at a facility in Nürtinger Straße in Unterensingen. No further details about the incident have been released.
  • A motorcyclist was riding a Kawasaki on the federal road towards Stuttgart around 8:10 when he collided with a Peugeot Expert that was braking due to traffic congestion. The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries, and the extent of the damages is unknown.
  • On Wednesday afternoon, a 61-year-old man driving a Renault box van veered off the road and collided with a tractor-trailer that was illegally parked on the shoulder. Witnesses pulled the woman out of her vehicle and alerted the police.

Fires

  • A kitchen fire occurred in a restaurant on Bahnhofstraße in Wendlingen on Wednesday afternoon. The fire was initially extinguished by employees of a nearby company before the arrival of the fire department.   • A car fire on Wednesday afternoon required the driver, a 68-year-old woman, to be taken to a clinic. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Gas Leaks and Incidents

  • A gas leak on Wednesday afternoon occurred at the Auingen industrial park, leading to the evacuation and cordoning off of adjacent stores and the parking lot. The gas leak was believed to have been caused by a technical malfunction, and employees of a local energy supplier turned off the gas supply.
  • Multiple stores were evacuated in Münsingen due to a gas leak, but no specific date or details have been provided.
  • A motorcyclist was stopped by police in Pfullingen for riding without a helmet on B 313.

  • The gas leak on Wednesday afternoon at the Auingen industrial park was fully extinguished by the fire department, and the cordoned-off area was reopened around 18:30.
  • The traffic accident on B312 near the Rommelsbach Bridge in Metzingen required the Toyota to be extinguished by the fire department and then towed away. The extent of the damage is not yet known.
