The A81 near Großrinderfeld witnessed a two-vehicle collision involving a Mercedes-Benz van and a Fiat. According to the latest information, there was no direct collision between the two vehicles.

The incident occurred when the driver of the Mercedes-Benz, aged 21, veered off the road due to a suspected medical reason and collided with the central reservation barrier. The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for further examination.

Unfortunately, the Fiat driver was seriously injured and was also taken to a hospital. The reason for the Fiat driver veering off the lane is currently under investigation.

The stretch between the Tauberbischofsheim and Gerchsheim junctions was fully closed for approximately two hours due to the accident and scattered debris. The total damage caused by the collision is approximately €15,000.
