In the initial game for Boston College, Dylan Lonergan demonstrates an impressive performance throwing for four touchdowns, leading the Eagles to a dominating 66-10 victory over Fordham.

In a spectacular debut for Boston College, redshirt sophomore transfer Dylan Lonergan threw an impressive four touchdowns, leading the Eagles to a dominating 52-21 victory over Fordham.

Lonergan, who was recruited to Alabama by BC's second-year head coach Bill O'Brien, showcased his talents early on, leading the Eagles to touchdowns on their first two drives. He completed 26-of-34 passes for 268 yards with no interceptions, including a crucial drive before halftime that ended in a touchdown for Jaedn Skeete with just 26 seconds left.

Skeete, who caught two touchdowns in the game, was not the only one to impress. Grayson James, who started the final five games of the previous season for Boston College, had a stellar appearance, completing 5 out of 5 passes for 190 yards and a touchdown. Lewis Bond also contributed significantly with 11 catches for 138 yards.

The drive led by Lonergan, during which he completed 8 out of 10 passes and gained 82 yards, was particularly noteworthy as it allowed Boston College to go into halftime with a score. Head coach Bill O'Brien praised the drive, stating that Lonergan, the receivers, the tight ends, and the pass protection did a good job.

On the other side of the field, Gunnar Smith completed 19 of 38 passes for 150 yards for Fordham and scored a 1-yard rushing touchdown. However, it was not enough to prevent a lopsided defeat. Bennett Henderson kicked a 46-yard field goal for Fordham, but the Eagles' offensive firepower proved too much for the Rams to handle.

With this impressive victory, Boston College scored the most points they have since a 76-0 victory over Howard on September 12, 2015. The Eagles are now set to face Michigan State in the upcoming ACC-Big Ten duel, while Fordham faces Monmouth in their home opener next Saturday night.

The future looks bright for Boston College, and with Lonergan at the helm, they will undoubtedly be a team to watch in the coming seasons.
