Gloria Restaurant in Hell's Kitchen Serves Affordable, Organic, and Delicious Fare

In the heart of Hell's Kitchen, a unique dining experience awaits. Gloria, an upscale-casual restaurant, opened its doors in March 2017 with a mission to provide an elevated sense of affordable and organic food for the masses.

Chef Diego Garcia, Phil Johnson, and Leland Meibeyer teamed up in 2015 to bring this vision to life. Born in Mexico and raised in Napa, Chef Garcia plays a significant role in shaping the menu, which is a blend of Mexican and Californian cuisine. The menu typically offers 15 dishes, many of which are gluten-free and include options like octopus with black rice and whole shrimp with hominy, Cortez sauce, and Rancho Gordo beans in a flavorful mussel broth.

Food and wine at Gloria are intended to be enjoyed, not worshipped, and made accessible to everyone. The sustainable fish served on the menu is supplied from the Eastern Seaboard, while the wines are natural and include selections from Napa and France. Phil Johnson, the restaurant's manager and co-owner, also serves as the sommelier.

The restaurant is located in a building that was once a peanut factory from the 1910s, and the interior is designed to be intimate and welcoming. The team behind Gloria's restaurant also enjoys "beans with a sparkling rose" and mezcal. If they continue to open more places, they may name them after their mothers.

Gloria's menu is designed to be seasonal and regularly updated to align with the team's mission. Chef Garcia's ultimate meal consists of whole fish cooked over open fire, served with cucumber, tomato, cilantro, and lime. The Gloria team takes pride in serving longtime locals in their neighborhood and hopes to become another go-to for the neighborhood locals.

The wine supplier for Gloria Restaurant in Hell's Kitchen is the distributor named "Empire Wine & Spirits." The team behind Gloria believes that dining out should be a pleasure, not a chore, and they strive to provide an enjoyable and memorable experience for all their guests. Whether you're looking for a casual dinner or a special occasion meal, Gloria is the perfect choice for a delicious and affordable dining experience in Hell's Kitchen.
