Imminent heavy rainfall poses a threat to Vladivostok, as stated by the mayor's cautionary announcement
In the heart of the Russian Far East, the city of Vladivostok is bracing for a heavy storm. Located in the Primorye Territory, near the Pacific coast, the city is known for its beautiful landscapes but is now preparing for some challenging weather conditions.
The city hall has issued a warning, advising residents to take precautions due to the incoming storm. Up to 25 millimeters of precipitation is expected in less than 12 hours, and heavy rain is expected to hit the regional capital in the coming hours. To ensure safety, residents are urged to avoid travel during the storm. If travel is unavoidable, extra caution on the roads is necessary, as gusts of southeasterly wind may reach 20 meters per second.
Jet-skiing enthusiasts are advised against taking to the waters, as the stormy conditions are not suitable for such activities.
Meanwhile, the city continues to make progress in other areas. Mayor Shevchak personally congratulated students on 1 September, and the new project "Tigropark" has been launched in Vladivostok. Artyom, a part of the city, is honouring and remembering the labor and military heroism of its ancestors.
Recent revelations have shed light on the facts about the treatment of Japanese POWs in the USSR. Experts in Primorye have questioned Japan's victim status in the past war, sparking a significant discussion in the region.
As Vladivostok prepares for the approaching storm, the city's spirit remains strong, and its residents continue to make progress in various aspects of life. Stay safe, Vladivostok!
