Light & Wonder Expands into Asia with iGaming Platform in the Philippines

Light & Wonder, a leading provider of gaming solutions, is set to make its debut in Asia with the rollout of its iGaming platform in the Philippines. This marks the company's 47th regulated market worldwide.

The company's strategy for the Philippines leans heavily on aggregation, aiming to provide operators with a wide portfolio to engage local players. Magdalena Podhorska-Okolow, vice-president commercial - MD Europe, iGaming, stated that one of the main cornerstones of the strategy is not to reinvent the wheel.

A key part of the rollout involves bringing familiar titles into the online space. Over 5,000 games from more than 100 studios will be available for operators, including popular games from casino floors. Light & Wonder's games that are available on land-based casino floors will also be available online, offering players the convenience of playing their favourite games across both channels.

The company has earned accreditation from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and has opened an office in Clark, where it has hired local iGaming teams and is already integrating with operators ahead of the launch. The office in Clark is the location of Light & Wonder's new presence in the Philippines.

The Philippines' eGames sector has seen a surge, with PAGCOR's chairman and CEO, Alejandro Tengco, reporting a gross gaming revenue of $1.2 billion in the first seven months of 2025. Light & Wonder aims to connect its land-based and online businesses seamlessly through its omnichannel model, allowing players to contribute in casinos or online.

In July, Light & Wonder received a gaming-related vendor license from the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority in the UAE. The company iWin Manila Inc. received approval in the Philippines in July 2025 to operate iGaming platforms, and 1,600 games have already been submitted for approval.

Light & Wonder plans to position itself as a major player in the Asian region. A unique partnership between Light & Wonder, OpenTag, and FIRST was recently established to refresh the B2B gaming sector in LatAm and other markets, hinting at further expansion in the future.

The announcement was made during the Philippine iGaming Symposium in Manila, where Light & Wonder shared details of its local strategy. Jackpot products operate across both channels, aiming to help acquire players into online gaming and achieve great value from players playing on both channels. These products, along with the omnichannel focus, are set to revolutionise the gaming landscape in the Philippines.
