Idaho man wins $1M lottery jackpot after misreading his ticket

A man from Rigby, Idaho, has struck it lucky just in time for the new year. Sean Klingler walked away with $1 million after winning an Idaho Lottery game. The surprise came when he realised his ticket was worth far more than he first thought.

Klingler bought the winning Idaho Raffle ticket at a local shop. The clerk who sold it to him was stunned when the news broke. At first, he believed he had won $100,000—until officials confirmed the actual prize was ten times larger.

On Tuesday, he travelled to the lottery office in Boise to claim his winnings. Friends didn’t believe him at first, doubting his story until he showed them a photo with the oversized check. The newly minted millionaire already has plans for the money. Paying off debts and securing his retirement are top priorities. He also wants to treat his wife to a new car as a way to celebrate their good fortune.

Klingler’s win turns him into a millionaire ahead of 2026. The prize money will cover outstanding debts and boost his savings. His wife’s new car will mark the start of a brighter financial future for the couple.
