Hyundai Motor Company Australia has unveiled an expanded warranty and aftercare package for its passenger vehicle range, effective from 1st June 2025. The new program, named "Hyundai Promise," replaces the previous aftercare program called iCare.

Under the new warranty, all petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric vehicles will be covered by a seven-year unlimited kilometre warranty. This marks a significant leap from the five-year unlimited kilometre warranty that Hyundai has offered since 2007, when it was the first brand to introduce such a warranty in Australia.

For electric vehicles, an additional eight-year warranty for high-voltage EV batteries is included. Notably, this extended battery warranty is exclusive to electric vehicles. An eight-year/160,000 km warranty for high-voltage EV batteries is also provided.

The Hyundai Promise requires owners to complete all scheduled services at an authorised Hyundai dealer to qualify for the full seven years of coverage. However, owners can still qualify for the standard five-year unlimited kilometre warranty if they choose to service their vehicle outside Hyundai's dealer network.

The new program also includes coverage for seven years for corrosion, paint durability, and multimedia systems, areas often excluded by rivals. Additionally, the Bluelink connected car subscription is extended to seven years, when service requirements are met.

Hyundai's Chief Executive Officer, Don Romano, stated that the move reflects Hyundai's ongoing commitment to leadership in customer value. He also mentioned that the new warranty demonstrates the importance Hyundai places on competitive coverage and owner confidence.

The Hyundai Promise is designed to make vehicle ownership more transparent, seamless, and confidence-inspiring for Australian drivers. It includes online booking, quotes, genuine parts, and factory-trained technicians through the myHyundaiCare program, which replaces the iCare program.

Moreover, 24/7 nationwide Premium Roadside Support is provided for the lifetime of the vehicle, provided servicing continues within the Hyundai network. The package is part of Hyundai's global shift towards more connected and customer-centric service.

It's important to note that the new warranty does not apply to the Staria Load commercial van and cars used for taxi, hire, or ride-share purposes.

Romano emphasised that the new program is a testament to Hyundai's dedication to providing exceptional value and peace of mind to its customers. The new Hyundai Promise is set to redefine the ownership experience for Australian drivers, offering a comprehensive and reassuring warranty and aftercare package.
