In the fifth episode of the German comedy series from 2016, titled "Krause's Luck", we find ourselves in the picturesque town of Schönhorst. The episode, directed by Bernd Boehlich, brings together a cast of colourful characters, each with their own unique stories.

Horst Krause, played by the eponymous actor Horst Krause, is a retired Police Master Sergeant who now runs an inn with his sister Elsa, portrayed by Carmen-Maja Antoni. Horst discovers that his welcome in the town and from the mayor, played by Boris Aljinovic, is not as warm as he had hoped.

Elsa's husband, Rudi Weissglut, is played by Tilo Pruckner. Their relationship with each other, as portrayed by Meta Krause, played by Angelika Boettiger, seems strained and uncertain. The nature of their marital troubles is not immediately clear, but the signs of conflict are hard to miss.

Rolf-Dieter Schlunzke, played by Andreas Schmidt, is Horst's energetic friend. The arrival of a Syrian family, being accommodated by the mayor, presents everyone with great challenges. The language barrier is present, but not the biggest problem.

The episode also introduces a new character, Doctor Ramona, who is moving into a freshly renovated castle. The arrival of Horst's sister Meta, who lives in Cologne, adds another layer of intrigue to the story.

"Krause's Luck" is a humorous exploration of small-town life and the challenges that come with it. The episode is available for viewing until August 16, 2026, giving viewers plenty of time to immerse themselves in the world of Schönhorst.
