Human-like robots set to benefit from Infinion's integration with NVIDIA tech, promising enhanced movement and energy efficiency.

Infineon Technologies AG and NVIDIA have joined forces to accelerate the development of humanoid robots, combining Infineon's expertise in microcontrollers, sensors, and smart actuators with NVIDIA's Jetson Thor Series modules.

At the heart of this collaboration are Infineon's microcontrollers, offering multi-core real-time processing capabilities essential for robotic systems. These microcontrollers, such as the PSOC and AURIX families, provide a secure foundation, protecting against cyberattacks and unauthorized access.

Infineon's microcontrollers are not just about processing power, though. They also offer solutions for motor control, with Infineon providing a full motor control chip set, including transistors based on gallium nitride (GaN) for high-density and best-efficiency motor control solutions. The XENSIV current sensors, part of this suite, help control communication and design challenges in humanoid robotics.

Infineon's gate drivers are another key component, aiding in the control of these complex systems. The PSOC Control C3 family, for instance, integrates seamlessly with the NVIDIA Holoscan Sensor Bridge, further enhancing the capabilities of the robotic systems.

The collaboration between Infineon and NVIDIA extends beyond just microcontrollers. Infineon's acquisition of Marvell's Automotive Ethernet business has added the BRIGHTLANE series to Infineon's portfolio, offering high-speed ethernet capabilities.

NVIDIA's Jetson Thor is designed to accelerate the future of physical AI and robotics. With Infineon's technologies integrated, these robots will not only be faster and more efficient but also safer and more secure.
