Huawei-supported platform Shangjie H5 achieves more than 50,000 pre-orders within the first 18 hours of sales previews

In a remarkable display of consumer interest, the newly-unveiled Shangjie H5 SUV has secured over 50,000 pre-orders within its first 18 hours of pre-sales. This impressive figure includes an astounding 25,000 pre-orders within the first hour of its launch on August 25.

Shangjie, the latest automotive brand jointly developed by Huawei and SAIC Motor, has made its debut with the H5 SUV. The starting price range for this model falls between RMB 169,800 and RMB 209,800.

The Shangjie H5 is set to feature Huawei's ADS 4 advanced driving assistance system, offering a blend of safety and technology. The brand's commitment to smart driving technologies is evident in the integration of Huawei's advanced technologies into the vehicle.

SAIC Motor has taken over part of the production lines at SAIC-GM's Jinqiao plant in Shanghai for Shangjie, while a dedicated factory for the brand has been built in Shanghai's Lingang area. Production for the new models, including another SUV and a sedan, is scheduled to take place in Shanghai.

Shangjie has revealed a procurement plan for 400,000 units annually to its supply chain, indicating a strong commitment to growth and expansion. The brand aims for monthly sales of 20,000 units for the H5.

Pre-orders for the Shangjie H5 are typically fully refundable at any time, providing customers with the flexibility to make their decisions without worry. The brand has announced that it will launch two new models next year, with the second SUV model scheduled for the first half of the year.

The Shangjie H5 is the most affordable model under Huawei's HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) business model, offering a promising entry point into the world of smart mobility. The official launch of the Shangjie H5 is scheduled for September 23.

At the current exchange rate of RMB 7.1544 per USD, the starting price range for the Shangjie H5 translates to approximately $23,600 - $30,400 USD. This price point positions the Shangjie H5 as a competitive offering in the global automotive market.
