The 20th Open Door Day at Harburg Sports Club was a resounding success, attracting approximately 400 guests on Saturday. According to Carla Rook from the club, it was one of the busiest Open Door Days in a long time.

The event, which took place on Sunday following the Open Door Day, saw 38 new entries to the club. Out of these, 22 were for tennis and many were for the newly reintroduced cheerleaders.

The popular sports club, Jahn Heights, played host to a diverse range of sports. A total of around 25 sports were presented, ranging from tennis and Brazilian futsal to cricket, American football, and cheer sports. The new trend sport, wheelchair gymnastics, was also introduced, and it was well-received by visitors.

The flea market in the kindergarten was another highlight of the event, drawing in many visitors. The Catholic School Harburg's information stand was also popular among attendees.

Bernd Schneider, who resumed the cheerleader activities at the club after a 25-year break, was instrumental in the reintroduction of cheerleading at HTB. Cheerleading has been welcomed back with open arms, and many visitors showed interest in joining.

The event offered visitors the opportunity to join the club without a registration fee, making it an attractive proposition for those looking to get involved in sports.

One of the most exciting developments from the event is the introduction of wheelchair gymnastics, which will be offered by HTB starting from September. A total of around 30 children participated in an hour of wheelchair gymnastics guidance, and 18 children have already registered for the trial training in September.

The Open Door Day at Harburg Sports Club provided a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together, try out new sports, and get involved in the club. With such a successful event, it's clear that the future of Harburg Sports Club is bright.
