How Rick Bainbridge built a construction empire from craftsmanship and grit
Rick Bainbridge, a builder with deep roots in the construction trade, moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1996 to tap into the booming housing market. His career path eventually led him to found RCB Construction Management in 2018—a firm that quickly earned industry recognition, including the Charlotte Chamber Entrepreneur of the Year award. Born into a devout Catholic family in Buffalo, New York, Bainbridge grew up surrounded by the building trade. After earning a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he also played college basketball, he relocated to Charlotte.

The company specialised in kitchens, bathrooms, additions, sunrooms, and outdoor living spaces. Under his guidance, it received multiple honours, including Remodeler of the Year across North Carolina and the Southeast. However, in 2016, he closed the business after selling its remodelling centre. Two years later, Bainbridge started RCB Construction Management with a hands-on approach. He personally prepared every estimate and oversaw each project, ensuring a more direct and client-focused model. The firm's success soon mirrored his earlier achievements, earning prestigious awards in the region. Away from work, Bainbridge enjoys opera, travel, and collecting antique cars. He also supports charities like St Jude and the V Foundation, reflecting his commitment to giving back.
