In the heart of Hürth, the Sylverberg Kindergarten has introduced a new and innovative approach to early childhood education. The forest group, named "Fuchsbau", can be found at Caldenhofer Weg 105, 965 Hamm.
This group, consisting of 15 children aged between three and six, is based on the motto "Experiencing Nature - Learning Life". It follows the principles of both forest pedagogy and Montessori pedagogy, promoting the independence and independent learning of the children.
The forest group operates on approximately 10,000 square meters of their own forest piece on the fenced kindergarten grounds. Even in adverse weather conditions, the children spend most of their time in the forest and on the kindergarten's outdoor area. A mobile home serves as a refuge for the children and their three pedagogical specialists during heavy rain or on particularly cold days.
Sintje Murawski, the Director of Sylverberg Kindergarten, shared that the pedagogical work places a special emphasis on education for sustainable development (ESD). The group's mobile home was set up, equipped, and inaugurated by Mayor Marc Herter at the beginning of September.
Mayor Herter emphasized that the forest group expands the pedagogical offer in early childhood education with a unique aspect. For further information about the kindergarten and the forest group, Frau Bäumer can be contacted. Additional details can also be found in the service portal.
The forest group at Sylverberg municipal kindergarten is guided by the principles of both forest pedagogy and Montessori pedagogy, offering a fresh and exciting approach to early childhood education in Hürth.
