Fire in Hannover Apartment Building: Investigation Underway

A fire that broke out in an apartment building on Reichweinweg in Hannover has caused significant damage and left three apartments uninhabitable. The incident occurred at around 6:06 PM on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, firefighters and emergency services found black smoke billowing from a window on the second floor of the four-story building. The fire had spread to multiple floors, but the professional fire brigade, along with two volunteer fire departments, quickly managed to extinguish the blaze in the affected apartment and the floors above.

During the operation, which ended at 8:20 PM, three children aged 9 to 11 years old inhaled smoke while leaving the building. One of the children was taken to a hospital for examination. Fortunately, no one was found in the apartments during the search.

The estimated damage from the fire is approximately 300,000 euros. The Fire Department Hannover has initiated an investigation into the cause of the fire, and it has been confirmed that the arson was caused by a 42-year-old man.
