Horseshoe Online Casino replaces WynnBet in Michigan after Caesars takeover

Horseshoe Online Casino has officially launched in Michigan, taking over from WynnBet. The change follows Caesars Entertainment's acquisition of Wynn's gaming license in the state. Existing WynnBet customers will now move to the new platform under the Horseshoe brand. Caesars completed the purchase of Wynn's Michigan online gaming license in June, after agreeing to the deal in February. The move was necessary because Michigan only allows 15 online gambling licenses, each linked to a tribe with a physical casino. With all permits already allocated, Caesars took over Wynn's existing license rather than securing a new one.

This marks the first time Caesars has used the Horseshoe name for an online gaming service in Michigan. WynnBet customers will receive guidance on transferring their accounts to the new site. Once migrated, they will automatically join Caesars Rewards, the company's loyalty programme.

WynnBet had already shut down operations in eight other states, including Arizona, New Jersey, and Virginia. In February, it also sold its New York license to Penn Entertainment, which later launched ESPN Bet in the state. The transition to Horseshoe Online Casino means WynnBet no longer operates in Michigan. Former customers will keep their accounts but under Caesars' system. The shift expands Caesars' presence in the state while phasing out Wynn's remaining online gaming footprint.
