Homicide Investigation in Sudbury: One Arrested, Remaining Suspects Sought

In a shocking turn of events, the Greater Sudbury Police Service is currently investigating a double homicide that took place at Rumball Terrace, a high-rise located on 1960 Paris Street.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening at around 10:23 p.m., following a 911 call. Upon arrival, the police found a deceased male and a deceased female on one of the building's floors.

Authorities have assured the community that there is no immediate threat to public safety, but have not disclosed any further details about the victims or the suspect in custody. One person has been arrested in relation to the double homicide, but the number of additional suspects remaining at large is unknown.

The police are actively working to identify and locate the suspects, and are appealing to the public for assistance in the investigation. They believe that other suspects had already fled the scene before the police arrived, and are urging anyone with information to contact the police at 705-675-9171 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

Initial investigations suggest that the shooting was a targeted incident involving individuals who were known to each other. The police have not released the identity of the victims or the suspect in custody, and no further details about the case have been made available.

The investigation (SU25043477) is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as they become available. The police are urging the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities to the authorities.

This tragic incident comes after a double murder investigation in Alzenau, where the main suspect was the estranged husband of one of the women, who was later found dead himself. In that case, there are currently no outstanding suspects being sought by the police.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is asking for the community's support and cooperation in this difficult time, and is committed to bringing those responsible for this heinous crime to justice.
