Holiday retreat abruptly shuts down following brief operation, expressed regret by management

The picturesque city of Kempten is on the hunt for new tenants for its popular Alpenfestsaal, following the departure of the current occupants, the Faller Hof inn. The inn, which was subleased to the Reutberg brewery by the municipality, was originally intended to remain open year-round.

The Faller Hof offered more than just a place to enjoy a drink. It boasted 70 indoor seats and 120 seats in the beer garden, making it a spacious and inviting venue. The inn also provided two rental rooms, each with six beds, catering specifically to cyclists.

However, the inn's operations faced numerous challenges. The room rental brought in minimal profit due to the need for an employee for cleaning and early morning breakfast service. Despite this, the decision was made not to charge high prices for the Sunday brunch, which was successful but did not generate significant revenue.

The winter season of 202x was particularly tough for the Faller Hof. A lack of snow led to a decrease in guests, further straining the business. The situation was worsened by the rising food and energy prices, as people had less disposable income and went out to eat less frequently.

The couple running the Faller Hof worked tirelessly, often putting in long hours with one shift. This was unsustainable for their older kitchen staff, who found it increasingly difficult to keep up with the demanding schedule.

In an effort to attract more guests, the Faller Hof introduced various initiatives, such as live music, grilled fish, and Sunday brunch. Despite these efforts, the inn was forced to close for a significant portion of the second year due to unspecified reasons.

Now, the city of Kempten is looking for new tenants to breathe life back into the Alpenfestsaal and the Faller Hof. The inn, with its spacious interior and outdoor seating, presents a unique opportunity for the right entrepreneur. Interested parties are encouraged to apply and help revitalise this beloved local establishment.
