Holiday Inn Express Launches Scent-Based Alarm Clock for Travelers
Holiday Inn Express has introduced the world’s first scent-based alarm clock for hotel guests. The device, known as the Breakfast Alarm Clock, awakens travellers with the aroma of breakfast instead of a traditional ringing alarm. Guests can now choose their preferred morning scent when booking their stay in select locations.
The concept emerged from guest feedback, with many travellers reporting poor sleep and mood during trips. Studies indicate nearly nine in ten people in Asia Pacific grapple with rest, while over half claim a pleasant smell enhances their morning.
The pilot is taking place in select Holiday Inn Express hotels across five countries. Guests can customize their wake-up call by selecting from local breakfast-inspired aromas. The brand anticipates the feature will make mornings more pleasant for travellers.
