Hoffenheim suffers defeat at the hands of Frankfort
In a thrilling encounter at the PreZero Arena, Eintracht Frankfurt secured their second consecutive victory in the Bundesliga, defeating TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 3-1.
The match began with Eintracht Frankfurt taking control, and it wasn't long before they opened the scoring. Ritsu Doan, the Japanese international, capitalised on a beautiful build-up play to score in the 17th minute, setting the tone for the rest of the game. He added another goal in the 27th minute, this time from close range after a counterattack and double pass with Arthur Theate.
Hoffenheim's young team struggled to find a way through Frankfurt's well-organized defense, and it wasn't until the 90.+1 minute that Grischa Prömel managed to score for the home team. However, Eintracht Frankfurt held on for a deserved win, even after conceding the late goal.
The third goal came in the 51st minute, with Can Uzun scoring after a fine pass from Doan. The win was a testament to Frankfurt's resilience and the quality of their attacking play, particularly from Doan who scored a double (Doppelpack) in the match.
Eintracht Frankfurt had to do without striker Jonathan Burkardt and veteran Mario Götze, both sidelined due to back pain and muscular issues respectively. Elye Wahi, the new signing from FSV Mainz 05, stepped in and had a chance to make it 3-0 but missed from two meters.
In goal for Hoffenheim, Oliver Baumann, the German national team goalkeeper, was left helpless on several occasions, including a shot from Bayhoya and a close-range effort from Wahi that was cleared off the line by Robin Hranac.
Despite the late goal, Hoffenheim could not find a way back into the game, and Eintracht Frankfurt took their foot off the gas but never lost control of the match. The win marks a strong start to the season for Frankfurt, who will be aiming to build on this momentum in their upcoming fixtures.
