- Hoffenheim Recruits Swiss International Hajdari for Their Team
Swiss Defender Albian Hajdari Joins TSG 1899 Hoffenheim
Albian Hajdari, a 22-year-old center-back, has signed a long-term contract with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in Kraichgau. The Swiss football national team player's signing comes in response to the severe knee injury sustained by Koki Machida, who will be out for several months.
Hajdari began his footballing journey in the youth academy of FC Basel, the traditional Swiss club. He then moved to the youth sector of Italian record champions Juventus Turin in September 2020, after a stint with the club's youth teams.
Prior to playing for the Swiss national team, Hajdari represented all the youth national teams of his home country. He made his debut for the Swiss senior team in March of this year.
In July 2022, Hajdari joined Swiss top-flight club FC Lugano on loan, and the move became permanent in April 2023. During his time at Lugano, he played a total of 110 games, scoring 5 goals and providing 1 assist over the past three seasons.
Andreas Schicker, Sporting Director of TSG, stated that Hajdari fits perfectly into their profile. "Albian is a top-trained, left-footed defender with extensive experience from the Swiss league and European competitions," Schicker said. "We are delighted to have him on board."
Hajdari's signing marks a significant boost for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, as they look to strengthen their defence following Machida's injury. The young defender's career trajectory, from the youth teams of FC Basel to the Swiss national team and now to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, is a testament to his talent and dedication to the sport.
