Hiking enthusiasts should explore three captivating trails along Duisburg's picturesque lakefront
The Six Lakes Plateau in Germany is now home to three digitally available hiking trails, offering a unique and modern way to explore the picturesque region.
The two new trails, the Haubachroute and the 3-Seen-Rundgang, join the previously released Grindsbruch Erlensteig (purple), which leads around the Haubachsee and through the southern mixed forest.
The Haubachroute, coloured yellow, is a 4.2-kilometre loop trail that encircles the Haubachsee, known for its rich biodiversity and home to numerous endangered animal and plant species. The 3-Seen-Rundgang, marked with turquoise markers, spans 4.8 kilometres and rewards hikers with stunning views of the Wolfs-, BoΜllert-, and Wambachsee.
For those embarking on these trails, numerous viewing points directly at the water are available on the 3-Seen-Rundgang trail, making for unforgettable photo opportunities. An observation tower on the Wolfsberg offers a wide view from the 3-Seen-Rundgang trail, further enhancing the experience.
To help navigate these trails, QR codes have been added to new trail signs. Scanning these codes will direct users to the environmental department's website, where they can download overview and detailed maps of the hiking routes as GPX files. Users can also find the locations of the signs for the Haubachroute and the 3-Seen-Rundgang on the overview map of the Six Lakes Plateau.
Information signs will be installed at parking lots and entrances to the lakes, with the first information sign located on Saarner Street. These signs will help guide hikers and provide essential information about the trails and the region.
While the responsible authority for the publication of the digital hiking maps of the Three Lakes Plateau is not specified in the provided search results, these new trails offer an exciting opportunity for locals and tourists alike to explore the beautiful Six Lakes Plateau in a whole new way.
