In the world of commercial and library music, Antonio Sage stands out as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring composers. His advice for those looking to make a mark in the industry is simple yet profound: make undeniable music, be fearless, release, share, and play music, find a way to make yourself stand out, and be consistent.

Born and raised in the United States, Sage began his musical journey with a 4-Track recorder, a mic, and an old guitar. As technology evolved, he transitioned to computers for music-making, embracing the digital age with open arms. Under the moniker Audioutlaw, Sage created software devices, pouring his heart and soul into their design based on his own personal aesthetic.

Sage's software devices, available as free downloads on his website, have made a significant impact in the music production community. He has also worked with notable companies like Rob Papen, creating sound banks for their plugins.

A Multi-Instrumentalist, Vocalist, Composer, Ableton certified trainer, and instructor for Music Production: Ableton at our school, Sage is a versatile figure in the music industry. He finds the new features introduced in Ableton Live 12, particularly Roar, exciting and useful.

Sage's music is a testament to his diverse influences. Drawing inspiration from artists like Peter Gabriel, Max Richter, Cigarettes After Sex, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, 1070 music television themes, cinematic composers, and ambient music, he paints pictures with mood and aural imagery.

His compositions can be heard in television programs and networks such as Judge Judy, Dr. Oz Show, The Morning Show, House Hunters International, Primer Impacto, and on networks including HBO, Fox, TNT, Univision, and MTV2. He has also performed and spoken at prestigious venues and trade shows like NAMM, AES, and IMSTA.

Sage's course in Music Production: Ableton aims to provide a comfortable learning environment for students of all levels. He offers an online event to guide participants through the distinctive features of Ableton Live 12 and answer questions. Participants can register for free to access a range of exclusive music-making tools and tutorials provided by the school.

Despite his success, Sage remains humble and open to growth. His approach to creating music for libraries is to remain open-hearted for the experience of exploring styles of music that he might not have been interested in the past, be open to listen to critique and make adjustments, and iterate on his work.

Sage's collaborations with music producers or production companies, as well as noteworthy projects he was involved in, are not widely documented. However, his diverse range of production credits, including television programs, networks, and award shows, speak volumes about his talent and dedication.

In an industry where standing out can be a challenge, Antonio Sage continues to shine, inspiring aspiring composers with his fearless approach to music and his commitment to sharing his knowledge and passion with others.
