High-speed racing event, ADAC GT Masters, makes its debut at Salzburgring, featuring challenging tug sections.
The Salzburgring, a high-speed track located just 10 kilometers from Salzburg, Austria, is gearing up for an exciting motorsport event as the ADAC GT Masters makes its debut at the venue from September 5th to 7th, 2025.
The 4.255 km track, known for its long straights, will test the top speed of the participating cars. The battle for the championship is heating up, with four different brands leading the championship as the season enters its second half.
Leo Pichler and Simon Birch from the Austrian Porsche team "Razoon - more than Racing" are currently in fourth place in the championship. Max Reis, a Mustang pilot, is in third place, while Alexander Schwarzer and Alexander Fach from Fach Auto Tech Porsche are in fifth.
Owega and Wiebelhaus have been a force to reckon with this season, having won the last race and standing on the podium at two other long-distance races. Zimmermann, a pilot of FK Performance Motorsport, sees good prospects for the weekend at the Salzburgring.
The ADAC GT Masters event is considered the highlight of the motorsport season by Ernst Penninger, Managing Director of the Salzburgring. The series will be a first for the track following the DTM.
In addition to the main event, the Youngtimer Touring Car Challenge (YTCC), the ADAC Touring Car Junior Cup, the Pfister Racing Touring Car Challenge, and the GLPpro-Equivalence of Performance tests will provide additional racing action at the Salzburgring.
As guest starters at the ADAC GT Masters races at Salzburgring 2025, Dörr Motorsport with a McLaren 720S GT3 Evo (drivers Ben Dörr and Guilherme de Oliveira) and Neuhofer Racing with a Porsche 911 GT3 R (drivers Felix Neuhofer and Alfred Renauer) will participate.
The track offers a perfect combination of speed and idyllic surroundings. Immediately after the start, drivers face a tight chicane, but the rest of the track is fast and furious, even in the corners. The pit lane curve is extremely fast and will provide excitement in the race.
During the lunch break, paddock ticket holders will have the opportunity to walk through the pit lane for a popular Pit Lane Walk with a free view into the garages. Stars of the ADAC GT Masters will be available for autograph sessions on Saturday and Sunday.
The 80-minute endurance format with two pit stops has favored the championship leaders so far this season. With the Salzburgring's high-speed layout, it remains to be seen who will come out on top in this exciting race.
The Salzburgring promises to deliver an unforgettable weekend of motorsport action for both drivers and spectators alike.
