High School Football action featured on 7News as they head to Lake Braddock and Damascus for top games
After a long off-season, high school football is back in the DMV region, and the excitement is palpable. This week marks the return of 7News on Your Sideline, as they cover the biggest games in the region every Friday night.
On Friday, several exciting matchups are scheduled. In Montgomery County, Einstein faces Springbrook at 6:30 p.m., and Richard Montgomery and Damascus will face off in the first game of the Maryland season. Magruder plays Sherwood at 6:30 p.m., and Walter Johnson takes on Gaithersburg at 7 p.m.
In Prince George's County, Crossland plays Bladensburg at 7 p.m., while Gwynn Park faces Bowie at the same time. In Prince William County, Osbourn Park faces Hylton at 7 p.m., and North Stafford plays Osbourn at the same hour.
Meanwhile, in private schools, Imhotep Charter plays DeMatha at 7 p.m., and Loyola Blakefield faces Georgetown Prep at the same time. Saint James plays Paul VI, and Collegiate faces the Potomac School at 4:45 p.m.
In Virginia, Madison is coming off an exceptional year that landed them in the Class Six title game. They face a tough opponent this week as they play Colgan at 7 p.m. in the same county. Poolesville plays Winters Mill at 7 p.m., and B-CC plays Winston Churchill at 6:30 p.m.
Battlefield plays Mountain View at 7 p.m., and Wheaton faces Blair at 7 p.m. Northwest plays Blake at 6:30 p.m., and Friendly plays Anacostia at 6 p.m.
In the DC area, CHEC plays Suitland at 7 p.m., and Forest Park meets Riverbend at 7 p.m. Woodbridge and Gainesville are scheduled for a 7 p.m. game, and Parkdale plays Laurel at 7 p.m. Loudoun Valley plays Musselman at 7 p.m., and Wootton plays Rockville at 6:30 p.m.
This week, the Warhawks lost their first game of the season to Stonebridge. However, they have a chance to bounce back as they meet Lake Braddock again on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in Burke, Virginia.
