Hertha BSC Appoints New Leaders for Youth Academy

German Bundesliga 2 club Hertha BSC has announced a significant change in its youth academy leadership. Football coach Bjorn Müller and Sasan Gouhari, previously the deputy director, have been appointed as the new co-leaders of the academy.

The decision to restructure the academy is an important step, according to Fabian Drescher, the president of Hertha BSC. He stated that this move is a crucial part of the club's restructuring process, aiming to bring new leadership and development focus to the youth sector.

Prior to his resignation, Andreas "Zecke" Neuendorf served as the co-leader of Hertha BSC's youth academy. He stepped down in April for personal reasons, also resigning as academy and license player area director. No further details about his departure were provided in the official statement. Andreas "Zecke" Neuendorf bid farewell on Easter Sunday.

Bjorn Müller will take over the sporting leadership in Hertha BSC's youth academy, while Sasan Gouhari will handle the administrative and organizational leadership tasks. Gouhari has been responsible for budgeting and contract management in the football academy since 2022.

Hertha BSC plans to fill the coordinator positions in the next step of their academy restructuring process. The club recently welcomed Peter Göhrlich as their new CEO.
