In the quiet town of Hamm-Herringen, an unusual incident unfolded on August 29. Two 14-year-old individuals made off with a riding lawn mower from a local cemetery, causing a stir in the community.

The theft, which occurred around 11 a.m. at "An der Falkschule", initially went unnoticed due to an assumption that the stolen vehicle was a tractor. However, it was later discovered that the culprits had made off with a riding lawn mower instead.

The police responded swiftly, deploying a police helicopter to aid in the search. Despite the initial commotion, the youths managed to flee the scene on foot without being noticed.

The search for the two individuals proved fruitful, as they were later located and their identities were established. A criminal proceeding for theft of a motor vehicle has been initiated against both individuals.

Fortunately, the stolen riding lawn mower collided with a guardrail during the getaway, but the guardrail remained undamaged. The incident has raised concerns about the increasing number of such incidents in the area, and the police are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
