Heavy Rain Alert in Madhya Pradesh: Monsoon System to Persist

A monsoon trough and cyclonic circulation have resulted in heavy rainfall in Madhya Pradesh, as stated by senior weather scientist Dr. Divya E. Surendran. This same weather system is expected to continue bringing rain to the state over the next few days.

According to the latest alert, the heavy rain that hit Indore on Saturday will persist on Sunday. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for 23 districts in Madhya Pradesh, including Gwalior and Guna, from August 31 to September 2.

The districts of Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashoknagar, Vidisha, Sehore, Sagar, Raisen, Narmadapuram, Harda, Betul, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Mandla, and Balaghat are predicted to experience heavy rainfall. Some areas may receive as much as 2.5 to 4.5 inches of rainfall in 24 hours.

On September 1, districts such as Jhabua, Alirajpur, Dhar, Barwani, Dewas, Khandwa, Seoni, and Balaghat are expected to receive heavy rainfall. On September 2, heavy showers have been predicted in Ratlam, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Rewa, Mauganj, and Sidhi.

Light rain is also expected in other districts on September 2. Additionally, some parts of Madhya Pradesh may see light rain with thunder. Notably, the search results do not contain information about regions in Madhya Pradesh expected to experience heavy rainfall on Sunday, September 2.
