Hearing technology advances with Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast integration: collaboration between Cochlear and GN enables first implementation in dual-mode devices
In a significant leap forward for hearing technology, users of bimodal hearing solutions now have access to a complete ecosystem with Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast for the first time. This development is a joint effort by the Smart Hearing Alliance, a collaboration between Cochlear and GN Hearing.
The Smart Hearing Alliance, a partnership that has been shaping innovations in modern hearing systems for years, is expanding their existing collaboration. The alliance will now focus on joint efforts in research and development, shared use of technologies, and increased activities to make products more accessible.
The company driving this innovation is the Smart Hearing Alliance, a collaboration between Cochlear and GN Hearing. They aim to enhance connectivity between implantable and conventional hearing systems using artificial intelligence (AI) and deep neural networks (DNN) technologies.
Martin Schaarschmidt, a PR Consultant, Specialist Journalist, and the proprietor of a website and blog, serves as the Press Contact for both Cochlear and GN Hearing. You can reach him at his specified email address or phone number for inquiries.
Cochlear, a company known for its mission to help people with hearing loss live fulfilling and active lives and connect them with the world's largest community of people with hearing implants, has developed the new Sound Processor Cochlear™ Baha® 7. This innovative device is compatible with the ReSound Nexia™ Receiver-in-the-Ear (RIE) and Behind-the-Ear (BTE) models, offering a seamless bimodal hearing experience.
ReSound and Beltone, both owned by GN Hearing, are present in over 80 countries with numerous technology centers and a large team of competent employees. In Germany, ReSound and Beltone belong to GN Hearing GmbH, based in Münster.
The Cochlear™ Baha® 7, in conjunction with the ReSound Nexia™, can receive audio signals from TV Streamer+ and Multi-Mic+. Users can control the volume and hearing programs of both systems, as well as start and stop streaming, via the Cochlear Nucleus Smart App. ReSound Nexia also works with Mix-In Streaming, allowing users to hear their environment and streamed signals simultaneously.
It's worth noting that Cochlear™ Baha® 7 supports Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast, providing pioneering bimodal connectivity. Many users of cochlear implants (CI) already benefit from the bimodal solutions of the Smart Hearing Alliance.
Editorial Note: Cochlear employs over 4,800 people worldwide, consistently innovates, and has invested over 2.7 billion AUD in research and development.
