HC BHC falters in their match against top-tier TBV Lemgo Lippe

In the thrilling final of the Linden Cup, the Bergisch team faced off against TBV Lemgo Lippe. The match started on a positive note for Bergisch, as Gerdas Babarskas scored three quick goals, giving them an early lead.

However, the momentum shifted in the power play when Yannick Fraatz and Joshua Thiele took charge, leading the Bergisch team 19:16. Despite this advantage, the Bergisch team struggled defensively, losing their composure towards the end of the first half.

Christopher Rudeck, the Bergisch goalkeeper, made several impressive saves during the game to keep the scoreline respectable. Unfortunately, the Bergisch team's goal conversion weakened, and they were unable to capitalise on their opportunities.

The BHC team, led by Djibril M'Bengue, Eloy Morante Maldonado, Robin Granlund, and Johannes Wasielewski, had numerous chances to score from the backcourt, but were unable to convert them into goals.

The second half began with the Bergisch team taking the lead, 13:12, but Lemgo quickly turned the game around, leading 24:20. The last 20 minutes of the game belonged to TBV Lemgo Lippe, who went on to win the game with a final score of 34:24.

Coach Arnor Gunnarsson of the Bergisch team was disappointed with the performance, expressing his concern over the team's focus and emphasising the need for improvement. In contrast, Gunnarsson praised Lemgo's performance, particularly their seventh field player substitution and their pressure from the fast break.

Despite the loss, the Bergisch team can take pride in their early performance and the individual efforts of players like Babarskas. As they look ahead to their next game, they will be focusing on addressing their defensive issues and converting more of their chances into goals.
