Haptic praises *Call of Duty: Black Ops 7* beta’s bold matchmaking overhaul

Popular German YouTuber Cem Gülen, known as Haptic, has shared his thoughts on the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta. The new instalment introduces changes to matchmaking and cosmetic designs, aiming to refine the player experience. With over 905,000 subscribers, Haptic’s channel, HapticRush, remains a key voice in the gaming community.

Haptic has built his channel around Call of Duty, starting with Black Ops 1 and covering each major release since. His videos, which often exceed 250,000 views, showcase his deep knowledge of the franchise. The Black Ops 7 beta, his latest focus, brings a notable shift in gameplay with its new ‘Open Moshpit’ mode.

The mode reduces the impact of skill-based matchmaking (SBMM), creating a more casual environment for players. Alongside it, the beta also includes ‘Open Hardcore Moshpit’ and ‘Open Search & Destroy’, both featuring adjusted SBMM settings. Haptic publicly thanked Battlefield—for pushing Call of Duty to adopt these changes.

Activision has also announced a move toward more realistic character skins in Black Ops 7, stepping away from the exaggerated designs seen in previous titles. This decision follows feedback from long-time players like Haptic, who have called for a return to authenticity. The shift comes at a competitive time, with Battlefield 6 releasing on 10 October 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series systems.

Battlefield 6 had already made waves with its August beta, raising expectations for rival shooters. The pressure on Call of Duty to innovate has grown, and Black Ops 7 appears to be responding with both gameplay and visual updates.

The Black Ops 7 beta reflects a broader trend in gaming, where player feedback shapes major changes. Haptic’s support for the new modes highlights their appeal to long-time fans. With Battlefield 6 now on the market, the competition between the two franchises looks set to intensify in the coming months.
