Hannover Police Investigate Suspect Possessing Weapons in Hannover-Bothfeld District

On September 28, 2024, an evacuation measure will take place in Hannover-Bothfeld due to a potential hazard point for unexplored ordnance. The suspected unexploded ordnance is located on the grounds of the former Freiherr-von-Fritsch barracks.

A safety zone of 1,000 meters around the suspected point will be established for the investigation and defusing of the ordnance. Necessary exploration and demining measures can only be carried out after the successful implementation of all safety measures.

The evacuation operation will take place from 08:00 until its end. Residents are asked to take all essential items with them, such as medication, baby or special food, and appropriate clothing. Mobility-impaired persons can request an ambulance transport by calling 19222.

Buses will be available for transportation to a care center, departing from several locations including Koepenickweg / Treptowweg, Holzwiesen, Bahntrift, Alte Heide, Kiefernpfad, Langenforther Straße, Meierwiesen, Endpoint IGS Bothfeld. The care center for the affected population will be set up at the Integrated Comprehensive School Bothfeld (Hintzehof 9, 30659 Hannover) from 09:00.
