Hamburg’s theatres are bringing classic tales and beloved children’s books to life this holiday season. From fairy tales to musicals, families will find a range of productions tailored for young audiences.

The festive programme kicks off on November 28 with two premieres. The Komödie Winterhuder Fährhaus presents a fresh, witty version of Sleeping Beauty, running until December 28 for children aged five and up. Meanwhile, the Deutsches Schauspielhaus debuts The City of Dreaming Books, based on Walter Moers’ novel, scheduled through January 4 for audiences ten and older.

With productions spanning fairy tales, musicals, and literary adaptations, Hamburg’s theatres offer families a rich selection of performances this winter. Shows cater to various age groups, ensuring entertainment for both young children and older kids throughout the holiday period.
