Hamas issued a warning by Trump: accept the deal, or face the repercussions
US President Donald Trump has proposed a potential solution to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza, suggesting that a deal could be reached soon to secure the release of all hostages held by Hamas.
In a series of statements, Trump expressed his optimism about the possibility of a deal, saying, "We're working on a solution that may be very good," and "I think we're going to have a deal on Gaza very soon." He also wrote on his Truth Social platform, "The Israelis have accepted my Terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well."
However, Trump has not provided specific details about the terms of his proposed agreement with Hamas. According to reports by Israel's N12 News, the deal involves Hamas releasing all 48 remaining hostages on the first day of a truce, in return for the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners held in Israel.
Hamas, for its part, has expressed its readiness for negotiations and has received ideas from the US through mediators. However, the group has not publicly accepted or rejected Trump's proposed deal. Hamas is calling for a "clear announcement of an end to the war" and the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza in exchange for hostage releases.
The proposed deal does not specify the terms of an end to the conflict beyond negotiations during the ceasefire. The details of the Israeli government's consideration of the plan remain undisclosed. Trump issued a "last warning" to Hamas, stating there would not be another one.
The countries involved in negotiations for the release of hostages in Gaza include the United States, Qatar, and Egypt as mediators in indirect talks between Israel and Hamas. Hamas has not withdrawn its demands for a full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, while Israel has not yet agreed to this condition.
As of now, the conflict between Israel and Gaza remains unresolved, with both sides continuing to exchange fire. The proposed deal offers a glimmer of hope for a peaceful resolution, but it remains to be seen whether both sides will be able to reach an agreement.
In the meantime, the international community continues to call for a ceasefire and a return to negotiations to find a lasting solution to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
