Return of Gunther Jauch on crutches - Günther Jauch returns with the use of crutches

The popular German game show, "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?", is set to make its comeback on RTL on September 8, 2021. Despite a recent injury, the charismatic host, Günther Jauch, will be at the helm, ensuring the show continues as usual for the next few weeks.

Jauch, who is known for his sharp wit and quick thinking, sustained an injury during the summer break. He twisted his ankle in an unfortunate stumble, but assures viewers that his injury is not send-threatening. He will be using crutches for four to six weeks.

Despite his physical limitations, Jauch emphasises that it's all about the brain for the show. His "brain", he says, is still "relatively intact". Jauch, dressed in his usual suit and tie, will be seen wearing sneakers instead of his usual footwear due to his injury.

The first episode with the injured Jauch will air on linear TV on September 16. RTL viewers can watch the episodes a week earlier, starting from September 8. An off-screen announcer reassures the audience that Jauch is still sharp despite his injury.

Jauch also clarifies that no other person was involved in the incident. He injured himself during the summer break, not due to any mishap on set.

The show, which has been running for over 25 years, promises to deliver the same level of excitement and intellectual challenge. Jauch, despite his injury, is mentally sharp and ready to guide contestants through the gruelling quiz. He will not have to jump over any hurdles due to his injury, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable viewing experience for all.
