Gunmen from Palestine fatally shoot six individuals in a violent attack in the eastern region of Jerusalem, as reported by the foreign minister.

In a shocking turn of events, a deadly attack took place at the Ramot Junction in Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem. The incident occurred at a bus stop, where gunmen opened fire, resulting in the deaths of at least six people and wounding several others.

The available information does not specify which specific Palestinian militia group carried out the attack. However, it was attributed to two Palestinian individuals. Hamas, a Palestinian militant group, praised the attack and claimed it was carried out by their members.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was at the scene of the attack and made a statement, expressing his condolences to the families of the victims and vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice. The Israeli army is currently encircling several areas on the outskirts of Ramallah in response to the attack.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar also made a statement about the attack, while Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich blamed the attack on the Palestinian Authority, stating they raise and educate their children to murder Jews. Smotrich suggested the disappearance of the Palestinian Authority and the reduction of certain areas to the status of Rafah and Beit Hanoun, cities devastated by Israeli air strikes.

The attack resulted in the deaths of four ultra-Orthodox Israeli men. A recent immigrant from Spain was also among the dead.

The international community has strongly condemned the attack. German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul described the attack as "cowardly", while French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the terrorist attack. The United Arab Emirates also issued a statement condemning the attack.

Hamas, in response, stated that the attack was a response to the crimes of the occupation and the genocide it is waging against the Palestinian people. The Israeli retaliatory offensive in Gaza has reportedly killed at least 64,522 Palestinians, most of them civilians, according to figures from the health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza that the United Nations considers reliable.

Israeli paramedic Fadi Dekaidek described the attack as "severe". A security officer and a civilian at the scene responded with fire, neutralizing the attackers.

This tragic incident marks one of the deadliest incidents of its kind since the war in Gaza began after Hamas's October 2023 attack on Israel. The Palestinian Authority, as the civilian ruling authority in areas of the West Bank where about three million Palestinians live, as well as around half a million Israelis occupying settlements considered illegal under international law, has yet to issue a statement regarding the attack.
